Chemotherapy
At Cairo Cure, all patients are offered a pre-chemotherapy assessment appointment to discuss the treatment plan. During this assessment, we explain the treatment duration, what to expect during treatment, the main side effects of chemotherapy and offer advice on how to navigate thtreatment period.

Cairo Cure harbors chemotherapy treatment area, which is composed of seven highly equipped rooms.

Patients’ privacy is extremely respected at Cairo Cure. All treatment rooms are single, with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and television. Our highly trained staff of physicians and nurses are always available to monitor therapy, answer all questions and complaints.

Occasionally, patients may require to have their treatment as a continuous infusion over several days. In Cairo Cure, we are proud to be the first to introduce portable infusion pumps which are provided for patients allowing them to receive the treatment at home without being hospitalized.
Targeted therapy
Targeted therapy is a type of cancer treatment that targets changes in cancer cells, genes or proteins that help cancer to grow, spread and survive. There are different forms of targeted therapy, administered either orally or intravenously. These treatments are relatively less toxic compared to chemotherapy and often administered after evaluating if a patient’s tumor expresses a certain protein , or harbor a given mutation. In other words, some tests are often required to determine if the patient would benefit from this treatment. To date, there are more than hundred anticancer targeted therapies that are being used in clinical practice.

Cairo Cure has always been on the forefront in offering novel, innovative targeted therapy for their patients. Since the late 1990s, Cairo Cure participants regularly in international clinical trials some of them have led to the approval of targeted treatments like trastuzumab which is used in the treatment of certain forms of breast cancer, erlotinib, which is used to treat certain forms of lung cancer, and sunitinib, which is used in treating certain forms of kidney cancer, among many others.
Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that work by helping the immune system recognize and fight cancer.

The discovery and application of these treatments have been a revolution in the management of cancer and have resulted in major improvement in the treatment of many cancers that had limited and ineffective treatment options like melanoma (certain form of skin cancer), lung, kidney cancers among many others.

Cairo Cure is the very first cancer center that had started the application of these treatments in Egypt, with wide experience in han dling, and administrating these treatments.
Radiotherapy
Radiotherapy involves the use of high energy rays to kill cancer cells and thus shrink tumours. It’s most commonly delivered by a machine outside the body (external beam Radiotherapy or Teletherapy), or less commonly it may come from radioactive material placed in the body near cancer cells (brachytherapy).

It may be given alone for treating some cancers or combined with other treatment as chemotherapy. Combining chemotherapy with radiotherapy may make cancer cells more sensitive to radiotherapy, hence called radio sensitizer.

Cairo Cure offers their patient radiotherapy services off site and different facilities including International Medical Center, Baheya Hospital and Cairo Ray
