Dr. Hamdy A. Azim, MD
Founder & Chairman

Dr. Hamdy A. Azim is the Chairman and founder of Cairo Cure. He is also a Professor of Clinical Oncology and Past Chairman of the Department of Clinical Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.

Dr Hamdy A. Azim is a leading oncology figure in the field of oncology in Egypt and the Middle East over the past 20 years. He chaired numerous committees and initiatives to improve the quality of cancer care in the Arab region.

In addition, he had numerous academic and research contributions over the years. This included chairing the scientific committee of the NCCN (National comprehensive cancer network) Middle East chapter.

He is a highly published researcher, and participated as principle investigator in many phase II/III clinical trials that  led to the regulatory approvals of many drugs, including the BCIRG 001, BCIRG 006,  SOFT/TEXT, SAFEHER, and many others. He also served as an invited speaker in more than 25 countries, among which an invited speaker to the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer symposium in 2013.

In recognition to his contribution to the field of cancer care, he received several awards including the Beast Arab Oncologist Award from the Lebanese Society of Medical Oncology (2004), the Recognition Award for significant contribution to the oncology field in the Middle East Region from the UAE Cancer congress (2017) and the Research Award from the Arab Medical Association Against Cancer (2019).
